Thirdsector.co.uk reported that the government have decided to bin traditional CRB checks and give employees and volunteers the option of a single ‘portable’ criminal records check. This means charities won’t have to keep paying out for new CRBs, but will just have to check that no new information has been recorded since the certificate was issued.

Big congratulations this week for the National Lottery whose results for 2011/12 show that it gave £1.8bn, £160m more than in 2011/12, and it hit its target of £750m for the Olympics.
 
UK fundraising has been trying to get people involved with the jubilee campaign. The campaign asks everyone to donate one hour of their time to a good cause in celebration of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. The campaign is open to individuals, businesses, clubs, charities and other organisations. People can join in as an individual, family, community, company or other group and are asked to create their own web page to let people know what they are doing to help.
