Discovery Days
A Discovery Day is five hour workshop designed to give you a chance to explore your funding and advice needs with an experienced specialist, who also knows what it's like to commission fundraising consultants having done it as a Fundraising Director or CEO, and who knows the good, bad and ugly of engaging professional advisers.
Why would you want one?
- you wouldn't buy a car without test driving it - so find out first-hand how knowledgeable we are, what we'd be like to work with, and how significant a contribution we could make to your fundraising - without committing to anything longer term or more extensive.
- to help you to really crystallise your understanding of your position/needs and how a consultant can help - and where they can't.
- which can help you shape a brief for consultancy so you get the right inputs, outputs and outcomes.
What’s in a Discovery Day?
Short answer: honest advice and lots of food for thought.
Long answer: it depends entirely on the objectives we agree with you for the day - it's your day after all - but typically a Discovery Day would include an hour's preparation in advance of the day (we'll usually read your last Annual Report & Accounts and review your website), then on the day:
- a brief orientation and review of your charitable and funding/financials goals
- overview of the current charity funding environment and fundraising essentials
- review of your current income streams, fundraising activity and results
- explore your forward aims, ambitions and options for fundraising
- identify the main funding challenges, fundraising opportunities and costs
- identify what next steps would be most appropriate for you
We are confident that we will be able to make a positive contribution to your fundraising from day one.
Alternatively
If that sounds like a lot to squeeze into a day, it is! Whilst that makes it great value, an alternative approach is to commission a more indepth fundraising review, which would take place over several days, enabling us to examine your fundraising in more detail.
To discuss which approach would be right for you, get in touch today. We’re more than happy to talk or meet with you to discuss your needs - free of charge.
